What
is XenCare?
XenCare is a smart Security System for
your windows based computer. It protects your system from spy ware,
malware, virus, suspicious activity by monitoring every process
running in your system and alerting the user based on log of trusted
processes. It also protects binary file copy/modification in the
system. XenCare build its solution for the future using few patent
pending technologies to provide proactive protection. Future
security solution for 21st century should protect system from
threats that hasn’t been seen yet. XenCare is just a step forward to
that direction.
I have installed XenCare
SoftLock, but it’s not showing any effect?
You have to launch the XenCare system. You can launch by going
here, start -> all programs -> XenCare SoftLock-> Select XenCare
SoftLock. This will launch the XenCare SoftLock and you will be
shown with an icon in your taskbar.
How do I stop XenCare?
If you want to stop XenCare and unlock
your system then right click on the XenCare icon on your taskbar
select “unlock this system” or you can exit the application by
selecting “exit” here.
How can I set
XenCare to start at startup?
Right click on XenCare icon, then go to
management console, Under the "Configuration" tab you will find
a checkbox "Launch XenCare at System Startup". To enable XenCare
to start at startup check this box. You can also uncheck to
remove XenCare from startup.
I have
exited XenCare, but still it’s working, why?
If you have exited XenCare by right
clicking the XenCare icon at toolbar then you should not have
experienced this, if you exited from windows task bar or killed the
XenCare process externally then this situation might occur, you can
then start XenCare again and exit from the toolbar icon.
How
can I configure different options of XenCare?
Go to the Management Console of XenCare, from there you can
configure different options.
How do I know if
XenCare is working?
Make sure XenCare is locked (default settings), then try to copy a
binary file from one location to another location using explorer or
command line. You will see explorer wouldn’t copy the file and you
will see a notification message on system tray that the operation
has been blocked. This is exactly what XenCare would do when someone
try to copy some program or modify some program on your system.
I can
delete msi files from the system, why?
Msi are not exactly binary files, they
are installer files, XenCare takes care of binary file
copy/modification. We are hoping to integrate this protection soon.
Why
XenCare is not protecting my computer for binary file modification?
To protect your system from binary file
copy/modification you have to enable this feature from the XenCare
Management Console. Go to management console by right clicking the
XenCare icon. Under "Configuration" tab there will find a checkbox(
"Don't allow other processes to create/modify Binary Files " ) to
enable/disable binary file modification. Checking this box will
enable the option and disable if unchecked.
How
much memory does XenCare take?
XenCare process is known as XenCareSoftLock or the name of the
XenCare product you are using . In a standard windows XP it might
take up to 2MB memory.
Do you have any Linux distribution?
XenCare currently runs for windows based platform, a Linux
distribution can be made if sufficient user feedback is received.
Where
can I find the detailed log file of XenCare?
Go to the management console of XenCare, in the "XenCare Log" last
100 log entries are shown in the right panel, you will find a button
"View Log" here too. Click this and you can see all the lifetime log
of XenCare in your system.
Will it interfere with my anti-virus?
XenCare should work with
Anti-virus applications, however, if you get into any problem please
let us know.
Do you have other language menu except English?
Currently XenCare is bundled with English language, we are hoping to
release new language products soon.
I have
uninstalled the application from Add/Remove Program menu of windows, but
still i can see the XenCare icon in taskbar, why?
XenCare monitors on system level, so when uninstalled it might still be
running, you can avoid this problem by running the uninstaller from the XenCare
menu of your start->all programs->XenCare Software->Uninstall XenCare. It's
always safe to restart after uninstalling XenCare, then it will remove all the
trace of XenCare from the system.
XenCare is not running in my 64 bit Operating System, why?
XenCare SoftLock currently works in only 32 bit Operating System, soon we will launch 64 Bit version too.
In my Windows Vista,
XenCare SoftLock is not starting at System Startup, why?
In case of Windows Vista Environment,
User have to "Unblock" XenCare Softlock for start-up launching from
System Tray -> System Configuration Utility.
